  1. What is an Air India Gift Card and what are the types of Gift Cards available for purchase?
    Air India gift card (“Gift Card”) is a digital card that you can purchase on giftcards.airindia.com (“Platform”). You can buy a gift card with the amount you prefer and send it to the intended recipient via email. It can be used to pay for Air India flight tickets and additional products or services offered by Air India on Air India website and Air India mobile app. Please note that the Gift Cards cannot be used to purchase goods and/or services offered by third parties other than Air India. You can choose from different themes for various special occasions like birthdays, anniversaries, travel and other special moments to gift to your dear ones.

  1. How do I buy an Air India Gift Card?
    Visit the Platform.
    1) Select the occasion for which you would like an Air India Gift Card. You can select from a number of themes such as birthday, anniversary, travel and special moments.
    2) Enter the amount of your choice.
    3) Enter the name and email of the recipient.
    4) Add your personalised message and get the preview of the Gift Card.
    5) Proceed to make the payment via credit card or debit card.
    6) Once you have completed the checkout process, you will receive an order confirmation, a payment confirmation, and a delivery confirmation mail. The recipient will receive the Gift Card in their email, which they can then use to book a flight and ancillary services (except travel insurance, upgrades or any goods and/or services offered by any third-party other than Air India) offered by Air India on Air India website or through the Air India mobile app.

  1. Where can I buy an Air India Gift Card?
    You can purchase an Air India Gift Card on the Platform.

  1. How can I use the Air India Gift Card?
    To use the Gift Card:
    1. Select the flights you are interested in on the Air India website or Air India mobile app.
    2. Enter the Gift Card number and pin that you will receive in your email after completing the purchase of a Gift Card.
    3. If the booking amount equals or exceeds the available credit on the Gift Card, the Gift Card will be fully used until it has no remaining value.
    4. If your Gift Card amount is lower than the booking amount, you can make up the difference by paying the additional amount using any credit card accepted by Air India.

  1. Why hasn’t my recipient received the Gift Card yet, what should I do?
    Do not worry; your order is safe with us. The Gift Card will be sent to the recipient’s email usually around 30 minutes after your successful online payment. If the recipient of your Gift Card has not received the Gift Card email after 1 hour from the time the order was placed, you may contact our call centre at 0116 932 9333, 0116 932 9999, 1860 233 1407. In case you have scheduled the delivery for another date, the Gift Card will arrive on that date. You can schedule the delivery up to 60 days from the date of purchase.

  1. Can the Gift Card be bought with a future delivery date?
    Yes, you can buy a Gift Card for later delivery. This is possible up to 60 days from the day of purchase. Your recipient will receive the Gift Card in their email inbox on the scheduled day of delivery.

  1. How can I order a Gift Card for a person who doesn’t have an email?
    You can purchase the Gift Card in your recipient’s name and provide your email. You may then print the Gift Card received in your email and present it to your recipient directly.

  1. How do I get a refund for my Gift Card?
    As per our internal policies, the Gift Card is non-refundable

  1. How do I pay for the Gift Card?
    Only payments through credit cards, debit cards, UPI or net banking are accepted for the purchase of the Gift Card.

  1. Will I receive a confirmation after placing an order?
    Upon placing an order, we will send you an order confirmation, payment confirmation and a delivery confirmation mail. The recipient of your Gift Card will receive an email with the Gift Card you have selected. The email will have a voucher ID and all the information required to redeem the vouchers on the Air India website or Air India mobile app while purchasing a flight ticket or select ancillary services offered by Air India.

  1. Can Travel Insurance and Upgrade+ be purchased using the Air India Gift Card?
    No, Air India Gift Card can be used to pay for Air India flight tickets and additional products or services offered by Air India, such as, seats and prepaid baggage.

  1. How do I check the status of my Gift Card order?
    You will receive a confirmation email with all the details once the purchase is complete. You can also check the order status here.

  1. How do I check the balance of my Gift Card order?
    You can check your Gift Card balance anytime on our customer portal.

  1. Can I recharge my Gift Card?
    Gift Cards cannot be recharged, but you can buy a new one at any time!

  1. Can I use my Gift Card partially?
    Using the Gift Card partially depends on the Gift Card. Some Gift Cards can be redeemed only once, while others can be redeemed multiple times until the balance goes to zero. In case the value of the purchase exceeds the value of the Gift Card, the difference shall be paid by the bearer. No refunds or credit note shall be issued for the unused part of the Gift Card.

  1. What is the validity of my Gift Cards?
    The validity of the Gift Card will be provided in the email sent to the recipient.

  1. I misspelt the name while purchasing the Gift Card; what can I do?
    Please contact Air India’s call centre for changing the name on a Gift Card.

  1. Can I purchase a Gift Card from a travel agency?
    The purchase of a Gift Card can only be done online through the Platform.

  1. Can I redeem my Gift Card at a travel agency?
    You can only redeem the Gift Card on Air India website or Air India mobile app.

  1. Can I purchase a physical Air India Gift Card?
    No, Gift Cards are only available in digital form. Upon purchase, the Gift Card will be sent to the desired recipient through email.

  1. What currency can I purchase and redeem the Air India Gift Card in?
    Air India Gift Card can only be bought and redeemed in INR.

  1. Can I use my Flying Returns points to buy an Air India Gift Card?
    No, you cannot use your Flying Returns points to purchase an Air India Gift Card.

  1. Can I redeem my Air India Gift Card at local offices or on Star Alliance websites?
    The Air India Gift Card can only be used when booking through the Air India website or the Air India mobile app

  1. Can I redeem my Air India Gift Card on interline and codeshare journeys?
    Yes, the redemption of an Air India Gift Card is applicable on interline and codeshare journeys

  1. How will I know if my loved one has received the gift card?
    Once your payment is successful, an email will be sent to your loved one, notifying that you have sent them a Gift Card.

  1. Can I use the gift card for buying add-on/ancillary services?
    Yes, you can buy add-on and ancillary services (except travel insurance, upgrades or any goods and/or services offered by any third-party other than Air India) with the Gift Card, as long as such add-on and ancillary service is offered by Air India on Air India website or Air India mobile app.

  1. What is the Air India Wallet?
    The Air India Wallet is a digital wallet feature within your Air India account that allows you to store and manage gift card balances. You can use your Wallet balance to pay for eligible flight bookings and ancillary services directly through our website or mobile app.

  1. How do I Use Air India Wallet?
    1.Activate your Air India Wallet by Logging-in here - https://giftcards.airindia.com/en-in/wallet/login
    2.You will receive Air India Wallet activation email with your Wallet ID and PIN. Request to save the same. You can also check your Wallet ID under “Profile” on the Wallet dashboard.
    3.Log-in to you wallet now using your email and add your gift card in the wallet by clicking on “Add card” and entering “Card Number” and “PIN”. The gift card would be added in the wallet balance.
    4.While booking your ticket, at the payment page, click on “Use Air India Wallet/Gift Cards/Vouchers”

    5.Under the drop-down, select “Air India Wallet”. Enter your Wallet ID and PIN (as you received in your Wallet activation email).

    6.Your wallet balance would be displayed. Enter the Amount to be used by entering the value in “Amount” tab or choose the Amount by moving the slider. Then click on “Apply”. The Wallet balance would be applied and complete the check-out process by paying the rest of the amount (if any) by Credit Card.

  1. How do I add a gift card to my Wallet?
    To add a gift card:
    1.Log in to your "Wallet" account - https://giftcards.airindia.com/en-in/wallet/login
    2.Enter the gift card number and PIN
    3.Click “Add” to load the balance into your Wallet Once added, the card’s value will be reflected in your Wallet balance.

  1. Can I add multiple gift cards?
    Yes, you can add multiple Air India gift cards to your Wallet. The balances will be merged and reflected as a single total Wallet balance.

  1. Where can I use my Wallet balance?
    You can use your Wallet balance to pay for:
    • Flight bookings on Air India's website or mobile app

    Note: Wallet balance cannot be used for bookings made via third-party travel sites or for partner airlines not operated by Air India. It also cannot be used for Travel Insurance and Upgrade+

  1. Can I use Wallet balance and a credit card together for a booking?
    Yes. If your Wallet balance is insufficient to cover the full booking amount, you can pay the remaining balance using a credit card only

  1. Can I transfer my Wallet balance to another account or withdraw it as cash?
    No. Wallet balances are non-transferable and cannot be withdrawn or converted into cash, except as required by law.

  1. Does the Wallet balance expire?
    Yes. The Wallet balance expires as per the validity and expiry date of the gift card which was used to add that balance

  1. What happens if I cancel a booking made using my Wallet?
    If you cancel a booking paid with your Wallet balance, the refundable portion will be credited back to your Wallet, subject to fare rules and cancellation policies.

  1. I lost my physical gift card. Can I still redeem the balance?
    If the gift card was already added to your Wallet, the balance remains intact in your Wallet and can be used without the physical card. However, if the card was never added and you don’t have the card number/PIN, we may not be able to recover the balance.

  1. Can I see a history of my Wallet transactions?
    Yes. You can view your Wallet transaction history (gift card additions, redemptions, refunds, etc.) in the your Air India wallet account dashboard.

  1. Is there a limit to how much I can store in my Wallet?
    No, there is no limit

  1. What should I do if I see unauthorized activity in my Wallet?
    Please contact our customer support team immediately if you suspect unauthorized access or activity in your Wallet. You may be required to verify your identity for investigation and resolution.

  1. Will my Wallet be affected if I close my account?
    Yes. If you request account closure, any remaining Wallet balance may be forfeited. Please use your balance before initiating account closure.

  1. Can I use the Wallet for in-flight purchases?
    Currently, Wallet balances cannot be used for onboard purchases. However, this feature may be introduced in the future. Stay tuned for updates!
